More than 46 people have been killed and 166 others have been wounded in a truck bombing near a Shia mosque in northern Iraq, authorities say.The explosion targeted the mosque in the south of the city of Kirkuk on Saturday.
"The toll from the suicide explosion has reached 46 killed and 166 wounded," Kirkuk provincial deputy police chief Torhan Yusuf Abdel Rahman told AFP.
Earlier on Friday, two Iraqi security agents were killed and another two were wounded as a bomb ripped through Tabaj village in the town of Jalawlaa in the Khanaqin district of the Diyala province.
In other incident on Friday, a policeman was killed north of Baquba. The incident happened on the main road between Jalal and al-Saadiya, south of Khanaqin.
